Omar learned his first English word from a song.

He didn't know what "hello" meant, but he liked how it felt to say it. So he said it to the cat. He said it to the baker. He said it to his own face in the mirror, waving. Soon he had ten words, then twenty, then a hundred.

Now Omar watches cartoons and catches words like a goalkeeper catches balls. "I knew that one!" he shouts.
